There's an epidermic going around and it needs to stop!. Money is not forever but your dignity and pride you take that to your Grave. So Ladies of the Industry, sit back, relax, and get it together!. Mashonda: Bruised But Not Broken
Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean and Mashonda Tifrere-Dean, were seemingly one of the happiest couples in the music industry. But all that came to an abrupt end on April 23, 2008 when Swizz’s camp announced their separation. Since the news broke, rumors have been swirling about the break up being caused by an extra marital affair and celebrity drama. Swizz himself has adamantly denied the break up being anything more than irreconcilable differences and has championed their close “working” relationship. Mashonda, on the other hand, has a somewhat different story to tell. The singer/songwriter, who’s currently promoting two singles, “All or Nothing” featuring Lady Saw and “No Panties”, is moving full steam ahead with her music career. But she can’t shake the questions or the blogosphere chatter surrounding why and how the beloved hip hop couple could end out of nowhere. - continue reading in vibe.com
Breaking the Code of Silence chronicles the intense relationship and whirlwind marriage between a young woman and one of Hip-Hop's most beloved artists. An honest and open memoir, Wyatt tells her story of how her turbulent childhood, difficult teenage years and sometimes not-so-wise decisions aided in her development to become a devoted mother and a strong, independent woman. Controversial and straightforward Breaking the Code of Silence holds no punches as Wyatt reveals how her glamorous lifestyle -envied by many wasn't always so fabulous. Part biography, part cautionary tale, Wyatt tells her story to educate and inspire others to be independent and remain true to themselves.
From Nas to Jay-Z, from Seduction to Scandal--a Hip-Hop Helen of Troy Tells All
Once the sought-after video girl, this sexy siren has helped multi-platinum artists, such as Jay-Z, R. Kelly and LL Cool J, sell millions of albums with her sensual dancing. In a word, Karrine was H-O-T. So hot that she made as much as $2500 a day in videos and was selected by well-known film director F. Gary Gray to co-star in his film, A Man Apart, starring Vin Diesel. But the film and music video sets, swanky Hollywood and New York restaurants and trysts with the celebrities featured in the pages of People and In Touch magazines only touches the surface of Karrine Steffans' life.
Her journey is filled with physical abuse, rape, drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness and single motherhood—all by the age of 26. By sharing her story, Steffans hopes to shed light on an otherwise romanticised industry and help young women avoid the same pitfalls she encountered. If they're already in danger, she hopes to inspire them to find a way to dig themselves out of what she knows first-hand to be a cycle of hopelessness and despair.
