Wu Wear Ain't Nothing to Fu*K with

Boy do I miss those golden dayz of the infamous line that made it mainstream in a vast way, and not only because it was derived from multi-platinum sellling group WU TANG but because the staff was very diligently in representing a brand to it's fullest. Wu Wear broke barriers into the fashion Industry with their self made motto "Ain't what you want baby It's what you need baby Ain't what you want baby It's what you neeeeeeeed". Wait I have to go in one time, I'm catching a flashback moment:

Robin Thicke - Dreamworld

The cast of E! Entertainment's new Hip-Hop reality show "Candy Girls"

E! ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION TAKES VIEWERS INSIDE THE ELITE AND GLAMOROUS WORLD OF MUSIC INDUSTRY "IT" GIRLS IN NEW DOCUSOAP "CANDY GIRLS"

Some call them video girls, some call them video royalty, but when the biggest names in music are looking for Hollywood's hottest eye candy, these are the women they call. You've seen them featured in music videos with the likes of Kanye, Outkast, Will Smith, Jay-Z and Three 6 Mafia, but don't let their supporting roles fool you – these women are anything but background players. In fact, to reach the career pinnacle of appearing in "A-list" music videos and gain access to the world of superstars, private jets and exclusive parties, you need to be able to play the game as well as you look. To add more chaos to this competitive world, the stage keeps changing. Now that every aspect of a superstar's life defines their image, the casting process goes far beyond the traditional video set. Musicians need to live their image and that includes surrounding themselves at all times with the beautiful women who are often featured in their videos. However, like runway models, these women know they need to get in early and make their money fast before time takes away the looks that make them so successful. To survive in this fleeting and mysterious world, you need to be much more than eye candy…you need to be a "Candy Girl." E! gives viewers a never-before-seen look inside the explosive and sexy world of some of the most successful and desirable hip hop video divas and uncovers just how cutthroat and competitive their lives really are.

"Candy Girls" (working title) is produced by the award-winning production company Good Clean Fun ("Run's House," "Life of Ryan") in association with Coalition Media. The 30-minute, eight-episode series will premiere on Sunday, March 8 at 10:30pm ET/PT following the third season premiere of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

NBA Wife, Jackie Christie, Debuts New Eco Friendly Clothing Line 'Colored Girl'

Jackie Christie, multi-talented, fashion designer, author and model, is set to release her new clothing line, 'Colored Girl', on May 9, 2009, just before her third book debuts "Proud to Be a Colored Girl". The approach of this double launch and much anticipated clothing line is to instill the feelings of self worth, beauty and equality in all women.

Jackie's line will launch first with designer eco friendly 100% organic cotton t-shirts and accessories, and later followed by a hip relaxed and fun denim collection. Her line will be available initially on-line and in stores located in Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, and Atlanta GA. This limited release is done by design to ensure that women will come together more to get my pieces if my clothes are not widely available at first, Jackie comments.

Christie's line will be competitive with other designers such as Free People and Ed Hardy and environmentally conscious.

"I design with my heart and emotions, whatever I am feeling. I start there and I move with the vibe, not against it," says Jackie Christie.

AMAS | CAKTUZ..?13 Releases New Anti-NY Post Cartoon For FREE Download!!

Photobucket

Caktuz..?13 aims new reverse cartoon at NY PostAMAS Multi-Media recording artist Caktuz..?13 spins the outrage against the recent NY Post page 6 cartoon - caricaturing the police shooting of a chimpanzee in Connecticut. It shows two police officers standing over the chimp's body: "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill," one officer says. It was meant to mock an ineptly written federal stimulus bill, but it has been taken as a depiction of President Obama. "Every part of our struggle is our art" says Caktuz..?13 from a Brooklyn NY studio. "And our art is always at war. So consider this retaliation"....

John Legend: Open Letter To The New York Post

YA MOFOS DONE STARTED SOMETHING!!

Dear Editor:

I'm trying to understand what possible motivation you may have had for publishing that vile cartoon depicting the shooting of the chimpanzee that went crazy. I guess you thought it would be funny to suggest that whomever was responsible for writing the Economic Recovery legislation must have the intelligence and judgment of a deranged, violent chimpanzee, and should be shot to protect the larger community. Really? Did it occur to you that this suggestion would imply a connection between President Barack Obama and the deranged chimpanzee? Did it occur to you that our President has been receiving death threats since early in his candidacy? Did it occur to you that blacks have historically been compared to various apes as a way of racist insult and mockery? Did you intend to invoke these painful themes when you printed the cartoon?

If that's not what you intended, then it was stupid and willfully ignorant of you not to connect these easily connectable dots. If it is what you intended, then you obviously wanted to be grossly provocative, racist and offensive to the sensibilities of most reasonable Americans. Either way, you should not have printed this cartoon, and the fact that you did is truly reprehensible. I can't imagine what possible justification you have for this. I've read your lame statement in response to the outrage you provoked. Shame on you for dodging the real issue and then using the letter as an opportunity to attack Rev. Sharpton. This is not about Rev. Sharpton. It's about the cartoon being blatantly racist and offensive.

I believe in freedom of speech, and you have every right to print what you want. But freedom of speech still comes with responsibilities and consequences. You are responsible for printing this cartoon, and I hope you experience some real consequences for it. I'm personally boycotting your paper and won't do any interviews with any of your reporters, and I encourage all of my colleagues in the entertainment business to do so as well. I implore your advertisers to seriously reconsider their business relationships with you as well.

You should print an apology in your paper acknowledging that this cartoon was ignorant, offensive and racist and should not have been printed.

I'm well aware of our country's history of racism and violence, but I truly believe we are better than this filth. As we attempt to rise above our difficult past and look toward a better future, we don't need the New York Post to resurrect the images of Jim Crow to deride the new administration and put black folks in our place. Please feel free to criticize and honestly evaluate our new President, but do so without the incendiary images and rhetoric.

Sincerely,John Legend

Ultimate Game Changer: MANDOM Interviews Dame Grease

Photobucket

Recently, I had a chance to sit down with Dame Grease. An accredited producer that came of age and made healthy contributions to the era of rap music that I myself grew up in, It was a great honor and pleasure to sit down with him. Funny enough we talked about everything but the past. You'll soon see why. Dame Grease always has his mind on the next move, which usually is his best one yet. Not satisfied with his already substantial level of success and respect in the game, Dame believes he has the ultimate "game changer" with his unique style of production and equally unique crew of rappers - Who as you will so read have already inundated the streets with "Goon Music". Oh yea, I also learned that "beef" isn't a part of Dame's regular diet… continue reading

REGINA BELLE SIDELINED WITH ILLNESS - SENDS LETTER TO FANS

Grammy® Award-winning songstress, Regina Belle, announced today that an undetected illness and two surgeries will limit her from continuing to make appearances and performances. Belle faces a long road of recovery and hopes her fans and supporters continue to understand.

Photobucket

Belle is coming off the smash success of her gospel project, LOVE FOREVER SHINES and has been consistently touring and promoting the Top-10 album since its release last May. Belle underwent her first of two surgeries and is recuperating successfully in her home in Atlanta.

In an open letter to her fans, Belle writes"I have had the first of two surgeries to correct my illness and because 'GOD IS GOOD' the first surgery went wonderfully! The healing time requires no singing or flying for a 3 month period.....my second surgery will take place in six months, and I will have another 2 month recovery period....I really believe that God heals!" Finding personal solace in her own music, Belle commented that her inspiration for the project is simply gratefulness. She continued to talk of her gratefulness in her letter "I will continue to heal and be thankful for what God has already done, while I trust that you are prayerful and sending me well wishes. To all of my fans, pastors and churches, radio and retail, booking agents, promoters and everyone that has allowed my messages of music to go forward, thank you so much for your understanding in all of this. I Love you all and I'm working hard to get back to you!"

Dukes of Da'ville Score a commercial endorsement from Tide

Photobucket

As the Grammy's came and went, the Dukes of Da'ville stood tall while patiently waiting to infect the universe with their debut album "Time Machine" (formally known as Millenium Music) due Spring '09 (under Capitol Music Group/EMI) by scoring a commercial endorsement with Tide. Their addictive song "Steady" raised the hairs of many Major endorsers of movies and TV shows before and they continue the reign in a slumped music industry by taking on commercial as well. Tide released a new product called "Swash" which can be ordered at www.swashitout.com

ETTA IS ALIVE & ABOUT TO WHOOP THAT ASS!

White House insider on Beyonce flap: 'Some of us didn't even know Etta James was still alive'

This is so HILARIOUS we decided to join in on da Fuckery!!

The Obamas were "stunned" by Etta James' anti-Beyonce tirade at a Seattle concert — and now all over the Internet — according to Chicago Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker. The soul legend was furious that Beyonce sang "At Last" for the Obamas first dance at the inaugural ball.
Zwecker reports that a White House insider said:

It never crossed anyone's mind that there was anything inappropriate about Beyonce singing that song. First of all, the message of the song was so perfect. Beyonce sang it in the ['Cadillac Records'] film, and I don't think the people organizing that event even knew Etta was still performing. ... I'm sure some of the younger people involved didn't even know she is still alive!''

It's true what they say watch what you wish for.... Beyonce in desperation to please da Presidente gets ripped by da Real Etta James!!!

Ashford & Simpson Pen a Song for Amy Winehouse

Did you know? The heavy-weight songwriting team, Ashford & Simpson, penned Amy Winehouse's song "Tears Dry On Their Own". The single is Winehouse's second highest-charting single behind "Rehab" and the fourth consecutive top thirty hit off her 2007 smash album, 'Back to Black'.

Check out this exclusive clip from Ashford & Simpson's new DVD release, The Real Thing, explaining how they got their start in the music industry at the legendary Motown Records.

Def Jam tells Rick Ross 2 shut up!!!!

DA SCOOP!

Inside sources at Def Jam tell us that Island Def Jam Chairman, L.A. Reid has ordered Rick Ross not to call radio DJS or radio personalities regarding the beef with him and 50 Cent. Apparently Def Jam feels like Rick Ross is out there making a fool of himself. While he just launched a brand new single, "Magnificent," featuring John Legend, all the attention is focusing on his downward spiral ever since going at 50 Cent. Sources tell us that Def Jam is not pleased with the reaction his new single is receiving. A radio single with John Legend is usually an automatic win, but unfortunately for Rick Ross, he has only received 126 spins across the country since his record premiered over a week ago. As of late, everybody that interviews Rick Ross focuses on his days as a correction officer, his situation with his baby's mother and 50 Cent instead of focusing on his record.

Happy Birthday! Motown Turns 50

(The Jackson 5 with brother Randy Jackson, Courtesy of UMe)

When Berry Gordy, erstwhile boxer and assembly-line worker, founded Motown (then called Tamla) in 1959, the pop-music industry was little more than a hustle. But like so many post-war industries, the record business was a hustle that was intimately tied to the American Dream, and men like Gordy, Leonard and Phil Chess, Jerry Wexler and Ahmet ErtegÅn, hitched their ambitions to the sounds emanating from black America. Where Gordy distinguished himself from the legendary founders of Chess Records and Atlantic Records, there was a belief that he was not simply trying to sell black music to the crossover masses, but making black artists—and by extension black people—palatable to white audiences. As Gordy recently recalled, he often told radio-station executives, “Wait a minute—it’s not really black music. It’s music by black stars.” That simple distinction made all the difference for Gordy, who championed his company as the “Sound of Young America.”

To that end, Gordy’s artists were enrolled in what was essentially an in-house finishing school: To his credit, he turned a group of lower-middle and working-class black Detroit youth into some of the most popular figures of the 1960s and 1970s. Indeed, the Motown Star system turned Diana Ross—never the best singer on stage or the prettiest woman in the room—into the very symbol of glamour, particularly for a generation of Americans who were not familiar with black women such as Lena Horne or Dorothy Dandridge. Gordy’s strategy was simple; capture the attention of white audiences in the span of two minutes and 30 seconds with a series of catchy hooks, easily-remembered lyrics and sweet harmonies and make them comfortable with the black artists delivering the goods. continue reading
